Services across the adoption journey
Practical, hands-on support for councils, operators and robotics vendors working together, structured around the five-stage pathway.
Real-world testbeds
Trial systems against contaminated, heterogeneous waste — textiles, mixed recyclables and deformable materials.
Independent benchmarking
Measured performance data from operator-specific waste samples, not vendor-derived metrics.
Integration support
Deployment within Materials Recovery Facilities and legacy infrastructure, including constrained layouts.
Training & workforce transition
Programmes focused on safe robotics operation in contaminated waste environments.
Innovation programmes
Addressing sector-specific challenges such as mixed fibre sorting, contamination removal and automated disassembly.
Direct routes to deployment
Access to waste operators, local authorities and commercial facilities for live operational validation.
In line with the Robotics Adoption Hub competition
- 01Impartial advisory services to identify applications and connect end users with vendors, integrators and financing routes
- 02Real-world demonstration and validation within representative waste environments, including Materials Recovery Facilities
- 03Vendor-neutral benchmarking using operator-specific waste samples to generate measured performance data
- 04Integration support for deployment within legacy infrastructure and variable feedstock conditions
- 05Workforce training programmes for safe and effective robotics operation
- 06Challenge-led innovation programmes targeting sector-specific barriers such as mixed fibre sorting and contamination removal
- 07Commercial scale-up support for robotics companies through access to customers and deployment environments
- 08Standardised data collection and sharing, including productivity, safety and economic metrics
NORAH operates within the National Robotics Adoption Hub network, working with the Central Convening Body to triage enquiries, share lessons learned, co-develop adoption resources and contribute to coordinated national activity, funded through the UKRI Robotics Adoption Hubs programme.
